Principle and Order of Operation. Practical Hints

Miniature ultrasonic washing device "Colibry" consists of a power unit and a spherical radiator of ultrasonic waves. A cylindrical piezo element is used as a generator of ultrasonic pulses. Under powerful electric pulses the piezo element sealed in the radiator performs high-frequency mechanical vibrations, which are directed to the washing solution in the form of ultrasonic waves propagating in all directions. Pulse mode of radiation creates a percussion action on tissues like "beating a dust out of a carpet". The definite pulse frequency destroys adhesion of soiling micro particles with tissue fibres and article surfaces (plated and dishes, parts) and facilitates their removal. Cleaning of tissue fibres from inside ensure high efficiency of washing.

Preparation for work

• Take "Colibry" out of the package box. Release the cable from the bandage, so that it has no twisting. If you keep the radiator and the power unit in your hands, the cable should hang loosely.
• " If "Colibry" is brought from outside where the temperature is below +10ºC, it should be kept at the room temperature for 1 hour.

Sequence of operation

1. Make sure that the mass of dry clothes does not exceed 1 kg per 10 litres of water. To estimate the mass of dry clothes, it is recommended to use the following table:

2. Sort out clothes according to: :

type of fabrics:

cotton, flax, wool, silk, synthetics;

colour:

white, colour;

degree of soiling:

slightly soiled, heavily soiled

3. Fill any capacity (bucket, basin e t.c.) with water. Water temperature should be chosen as recommended on the clothes label but should not exceed 60ºC.

 

4. Thoroughly dissolve the detergent in the water..Take the detergent in quantity as recommended by the instruction on its package.

 

5. Place the clothes in a capacity with a detergent so that they float in the solution loosely. It is recommended to soap the soiled places (collars, cuffs e t. c.). To remove air bubbles, squeeze the closes out several times. Place the radiator in the middle of the clothes. In order to get smooth washing, it is recommended to turn the clothes over periodically.

 

6. Washing should be terminated if you find that the clothes are washed off. Minimum washing time is 40 minutes.

Actual time of washing depends on:

Quantity of clothes ( more clothes require more washing time)
Soiling degree of clothes
Tissue structure ( clothes made of dense fabrics need more washing time than the loose ones)

NOTE:


• Washing time can be extended up to 6 hours ;
• In order to eliminate the soiled spots on the clothes, try to find their origin (tea, coffee, fruit, inks etc.) and add the cleaner to the solution in proportion recommended by the manufacturer.

8. To terminate the washing:

- disconnect the plug from the mains

- take out the radiator of the solution, wash it in the water and wipe it dry.

9. When placing «Colibry» for storage, make sure that the connecting cord is not twisted and not bended.

Practical Advices

• Recommended volume of water for washing 1 kg of clothes is 10 litters
• Use the detergent with low foaming
• One table spoon of detergent contains 10 g
• Make sure that the washing solution does not cooled down rapidly
• Heavily soiled clothes should be soaked for 2-3 hours at the temperature of 50°C and wring out before washing.

Safety requirements

Before connecting "Colibry" to the mains make sure that the insulation of both connecting cable and the radiator are in a good order

There must be no water on the body of power unit

For safety reasons it is recommended to disconnect "Colibry" from the mains when turning the clothes over.

It is prohibited

• To operate «Colibry» when of the power unit body or connecting cord insulation, or the radiator body are mechanically damaged
• Repair «Colibry» by yourself
• Operate «Colibry» by children
• Connect and disconnect «Colibry» by wet hands
• Heat and boil clothes with «Colibry»
• Store «Colibry» at the temperature below 0 ºС.

ATTENTION

• In case of appearing the smell of an overheated insulation or deformation of the power unit body, it is recommended to disconnect «Colibry» from the mains and consult specialists of a repairing station.
• The noise emitted by operating «Colibry» is the acoustic oscillations of the generator heard by the human ear. It is the evidence of normal operation of «Colibry». It courses no negative influences on both human being and domestic animals and this fact is confirmed by the Medical and Epidemiological Certificate.
• Heating the unit up to 50 °С in the course of operation is not the evidence of its wrong work.
