Highly Anisotropic Materials

These are materials characterized by high anisotropy of the properties of longitudinal and transverse vibration modes and by various combinations of other parameters. They are used in the production of ultrasonic medical diagnostic equipment, high-frequency transmitters and receivers, and sensors with reduced lateral sensitivity that are used in ultrasonic flaw detectors.
